Notepad T 10s Review: What can a Huawei budget do?
I like Huawei and Huawei devices. However, I have never used the inexpensive devices of the company. And I can judge from the flagship smartphones, which revealed to me that the smartphone, in general, has long been a camera, and only then a marker. And here we have a budget and a Huawei MatePad T 10s tablet, which costs 16,990 rubles. Let’s try to understand in this text what the device is capable of for so much money, who and what should buy it, and if they have it.
Appearance, like the flagship
And if you don’t turn on the screen, you’ll quickly realize that the tablet looks pretty good overall. And there is the feeling that you have created a seller or online store. It is in an all-metal case and pleasantly refreshes the hand. The camera cutout is minimalist and doesn’t stick out, a slim (7.85mm) and light (450g) tablet. The stereo grille on both sides, USB-C connector, and even headphone jack. Everything, including the Harman Kardon inscription, says this is not a budget, and it is certainly not the cheapest you could find in the store. Anyway, happy.
The screen here is also excellent, and it is an IPS matrix with FHD resolution. It has a decent brightness for home or office use. Enough with enough broth. There are no problems when watching even dark videos or movies. Color rendering is proper for the price segment too. Photos and video content look great, with no gradients, highlights, or changes in white balance in the corners, either. Anyway, happy.

The filling was exciting. Huawei decided not to save much on the chip and put a good Kirin 710A chip here. It has decent frequencies for its price segment: 4 x Cortex-A73 2.0 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 1.7 GHz. With daily use, the tablet performed well: programs dash, interface runs smoothly, games are very soft on medium settings. Yes, I have noticed strange jams in menus or games, but they were rare and usually occurred while multitasking on the tablet.
As for memory, the RAM here is 4GB, and the built-in one starts from 64GB. But it can be expanded with a memory card of up to half a terabyte. Mali G51 is responsible for the schedule.
Its capacity is sufficient for the consumption of content. I would even say that this is its main feature: giving you range on a saucer. YouTube works great through a browser, and the tablet never thinks of playing 4K content. By the way, I always recommend choosing the highest quality regardless of your device’s screen resolution. After all, YouTube, in addition to dry pixels, increases the bit rate in 4K videos compared to FHD. The color distortion disappears. Most importantly, the higher the resolution, the higher the sound quality.
Sound is the main thing for a multimedia device.
And here, Huawei MatePad T 10s can pleasantly surprise you. It has stereo speakers, which is a rarity in this price segment. Which, moreover, was created by professionals at Harman Kardon. It sounds perfect, and thanks to the built-in speakers, it’s nice to listen and watch videos while lying on the couch or in bed. And you can even hear the opponent in the game on the left or right, at total volume. I wouldn’t recommend doing this due to volume changes, but it is possible. All of this together makes it an excellent device for consuming content and even games. The CPU and graphics accelerator are sufficient for all the basic needs, and the App Galery has a great selection of fun for all tastes. Well, if you don’t have enough, it’s Android; you know what to do.
The autonomy of the tablet is interesting.
On paper, the battery is 5100 mAh, and the idea immediately arises that today’s phones have more, and here is a 10-inch tablet. But we need to make adjustments to the wind. After all, the processor here is energy efficient, and therefore the FHD display doesn’t put much strain on the processor. And even if you push yourself, there is an all-metal body that dissipates heat with a bang. Anyway, during my testing week and frankly stuck with shooters, I didn’t feel the device getting hot. All of this gives you a quiet week of using the tablet a few hours a day before bed or in the morning. Well, a full day, if you use it more actively or, even more, work.
But, as a full-fledged work machine, it is understaffed. It would help if you bought a wireless keyboard and a transformer box. Also, it should be noted that the processor is simple and does not like to switch between tasks quickly. However, something in parallel can efficiently work. There is a split-screen mode, and you can run two programs at the same time. If you need to do something at work called “kneel,” he’ll handle it. And for more severe achievements, the older MatePad counterparts are worth looking at.
In short, we can safely say that this tablet is created by consuming content. It has a nice big screen, great sound, and autonomy. You can play and even work on it. And outwardly, it generally looks like a premium product. It has its limits, and this should not be forgotten. But, as I wrote above, for its primary task, this is one of the best tablets for the money. By the way, now the tablet is discounted, and the device can be purchased for 15,490 rubles.
